| The Venezuelan government (SENIAT) ordered six DA42 Multi Purpose Platform aircraft for different law enforcement missions. The aircraft are equipped with Polytech Cobalt 350 turret-cams, which include daylight and thermal imagers coupled with the Scotty SATCOM downlink. The DA42 MPP is a complete system planned and developed with industry leaders to incorporate state-of-the-art equipment in a turn-key solution. The aircraft will be delivered ready to fly complete with sensors and certification.
The SATCOM system allows for immediate, real-time communication from air-to-ground and vice versa, allowing the decision makers on the ground to receive information directly from the hotspot scenario.
This high-tech equipment in combination with the fixed-wing DA42 MPP offers a number of advantages, such as low operating costs, long endurance and quiet operation that are of great appeal in comparison to the “traditional platforms” often deployed for law enforcement missions.
Diamond Airborne Sensing already has a long list of potential customers interested in operating this system. According to Wolfgang Grumeth, Managing Director of Diamond Airborne Sensing, “We expect to see a strong increase of MPP aircraft conducting missions in this field based on the performance advantages of the platform and the integrated high-tech mission gear.” |
